Our
history

KBA Basketball

Established in 2009, Knight Basketball Academy (KBA) is proud to be one of the longest-standing grassroots basketball programs in the greater Bay Area. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, KBA has been dedicated to providing opportunities to a diverse group of youth for over a decade.

Many of our alumni have gone on to achieve remarkable success, excelling academically, pursuing their professional aspirations on the court, and becoming active and engaged citizens in their communities. With a reputation for player development, KBA has proudly sent numerous athletes to compete at Division I, II, III, and NAIA colleges across the country.

KBA was founded by Coach Frank Knight, who envisioned a program that combines high-level coaching with mentorship to meet the needs of grassroots basketball in the Bay Area. Leveraging his extensive basketball network, Coach Knight has built a program that is player-driven, development-focused, and committed to helping each athlete reach their full potential.

Our
mission

KBA Basketball

Knight Basketball Academy’s mission is to provide independent basketball training, coaching, skill development, and mentoring to youth in grades 3-12. We are committed to helping young basketball players and their families transform their lives through continued growth in both basketball skills and leadership development.

We believe sports serve as a powerful avenue to nurture values such as teamwork, discipline, diversity, preparation, faith, and love. Our goal is to empower young people to achieve success on and off the court by guiding them to grow into responsible, impactful citizens who contribute meaningfully to society.

At Knight Basketball Academy, we promote and cultivate the joy of youth basketball while prioritizing the development of leadership qualities, sportsmanship, competitive drive, and academic excellence.
